Raising Smart Families - Casting Family Vision

Rate this:

"A goal without a plan is just a WISH!"

- Antoine de Saint-Exupery, French writer, "The Little Prince"

We didn't want families today to just be wishers, but DREAMERS and MOVERS.

With this direction, the Couples Missions started the first batch of the Seminar on Raising Smart Families. Two of the most important things for a family to do are: (1) to first make a family vision, (2) and to help this vision come true, to learn how to manage their family finance.

We gathered some of the couple leaders in our community, the Light of Jesus, for a seminar in Valle Verde Country Club one Saturday morning last January.

Great Eats at Early Bird Breakfast Club

Rate this:

When my girlfriends Milona and Iris decided to get together for an early morning breakfast date, we all trooped to Early Bird Breakfast Club at The Fort Strip. My friend Milona recently had a date with her husband Bensie there and discovered that it was an ideal breakfast place as they served a great selection of Filipino rice dishes, sandwiches, continental breakfast, and some delicious dessert.

We entered via the 28th street corner 7th and this is what greeted us.

The Family You've Always Wanted

Rate this:

In our Care Group Bites this quarter, we are discussing a very fundamental principle in raising a family.

This principle is rooted in the life and teachings of Jesus which is focused on sacrificial service to others. He once said, "I did not come to be ministered but to minister." Life's greatest meaning is not found in receiving or getting, but in giving.

Based on this principle, there are 5 ways to make it happen. These are taken from the book, "The Family You've Always Wanted" by Dr. Gary Chapman, author of the bestselling book, "The Five Love Languages."

This is a blueprint that was compiled according to God's standards of how a loving, stable, and healthy family should be.

The Cookie Butter War: Speculoos vs Biscoff

Rate this:

In my quest for my kids' spread mania, i chanced upon this two great brands distributed by my friends, Joy and Mitz, while playing badminton.

I have read the hoopla about this wonderful alternative to peanut butter or chocolate hazelnut spread. Shucks, I have also heard about my friends complaining that it was a hard to find item! Some supermarkets and some entrepreneurs distribute these brands but they just easily run out of stocks.

So lo and behold, I suddenly have access to these two head-to-head competing cookie butter brands: Trader Joe's Speculoos and Lotus Biscoff Cookie Butter Spread.

My husband Gerard scheduled a trip to Tagaytay last Tuesday just for the two of us, without the kids.

He brought me to T-House, a Bed and Breakfast Boutique Hotel nestled on The Tagaytay Ridge, a quiet hideaway. With promise of tranquility, it is designed to let relaxation flow naturally.

When you enter the gate, the reception area welcomes you to Mother Nature.
